Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) is the first international multi-disciplinary contemporary arts festival. A multitude of downtown Cairo locations will host events over a two-week span, starting 29 March - mid-April.

The festival will include local, regional and international music, theatre, dance, visual arts and film by artists from Egypt, the Arab world and beyond.

Organisers inform that "in addition to featuring established downtown cultural spaces and theatres, D-CAF will break new ground by using non-traditional sites, such as historical buildings, storefronts, alleyways and rooftops as sites for performance, events, and installations, to engage audiences and performers with the city in a new way."
