Sharm El-Sheikh Theatre Fest remembers 4th edition with YouTube video

The Sharm El-Sheikh International Theatre Festival for Youth was among the most affected cultural events in Egypt as the shutdown of all activities came shortly prior to the launch of its fifth edition

The festival's management released a video documenting the festival's opening ceremony which took place last year (April 2019) at the event's fourth edition.
Last year the festival featured numerous renowned Egyptian and international theatre figures as guests of honour in the management and jury panels: actress Samiha Ayoub, actor and director Mohamed Sobhi, scenographer Hazem Shebl, Saudi theatre professor Sami Al-Gama'an, among others.
Last year, the festival was named after George Sidhom, one of the most talented Egyptian comedians who passed away shortly before the festival's fourth edition.
The fifth edition of Sharm El-Sheikh International Theatre Festival for Youth was scheduled to take place between 1 and 7 April this year, with its president Mazen El-Gharabawy saying there were plans to make it one of the best editions.
Due to its timing and cultural lockdown that was enforced on 9 March across the country, only three weeks prior to the festival, the fifth edition did not take place as planned.
The video posted on YouTube on Tuesday features last year's opening ceremony, presenting top-notch Egyptian and Arab theatre figures.
