Swan Lake Ballet in the Cairo Opera House at 8pm

The Cairo Opera Ballet Company brings back the iconic ballet Swan Lake to the music by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Syrian group 'Al-Tawsheeh Al-Hadith' in El Sawy Culturewheel at 8pm

The Syrian group creates new music out of Arabic folklore and Syrian folklore without attempting its modernisation but rather using its soul melodies.

'If I weren't Egyptian…" Play in Falaki Theatre at 8pm

This thirty minute production is directed by Omar Ghayatt and discusses young Egyptians' search for 'paradise' in Europe – or lack thereof. Alaa El-Aswany also contributed to this play which is part of the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival.

'House of Tales' presentation in Viennoise Space at 6pm

Presentation based on a workshop, during which personal and contemporary stories through were collected through various mediums. The workshop was run by the Hala group and Mohamed Abdel-Fattah as part of the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival.

'Foo' El-Sotouh' band in El Sawy Culturewheel at 8pm

The Egyptian fusion band that was born on a Cairo rooftop mixes jazz, latin and funk with Egyptian vocals in this celebration of their one year anniversary.

Anachrony by Nermine Hammam in Safar Khan Gallery

Opening of 'The Golden Calf' by Kareem El-Qurity in Al Masar Gallery at 7pm

Born in 1982, Kareem El-Qurity represents the Egyptian art movement's fifth generation.The Golden Calf will be the first solo exhibition for the gallery's youngest artist. El-Qurity recreates the story of Apis using the vocabulary of contemporary art.
