A play titled ‘And This Is Cairo’ by a troupe called ‘The Return of Dangerously Ridiculous Theatre’ will be staged on several evenings at Cairo’s Falaki Theatre.
The performance is part of the Tahrir Cultural Centre’s summer activities.
Written and directed by Rasha El-Gammal, ‘And This Is Cairo: Part Two’ presents six short different plays, each showcasing a slice of typical Egyptian life, bordering on cliché.
“Emotional wars on unfair accepted social norms that kill us all slowly. Be with us, a troublesome warrior to fight the cunning and mighty plan to kidnap the freedom and vitality out of [our] youth!” reads the Facebook announcement of the play.
Programme:
Performances daily at 8pm, starting Friday 18 June and until 30 June, except for Saturdays and Sundays
Monday 21 June: the show begins at 6pm
Falaki Theatre, Downtown Cairo
Tickets are sold through Tickets Marche platform
