The Jerash Festival for Culture & Arts will be kicking off on 22 September in Jordan and running till 2 October, with many cultural and artistic events planned and a lot of Egyptian artists set to participate in the festivities.

This year, the festival will include over 130 performances staged across various historic locations in Jerash.

The festival will also feature an intellectual focus on poetry from the Arab world. This segment will include the presence of over 35 poets from the Arab world, including Egyptian writers.

The festival will open with a special concert by Lebanese singer Majida Al-Roumi and the closing ceremony will feature a performance by Jordanian musician Omar Al-Abdallat.

The Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts is an annual event held in Jerash — a historical city located 48 kilometres north of the Jordanian capital Amman.

The festival was founded in 1981 by Queen Noor and has featured many artists from Jordan and the Arab world across the decades, in addition to performances and concerts by international artists.
