Several new plays to premiere at Egyptian theatres during Ramadan 2022

Head of the Artistic House of Theatre, Ismail Mokhtar, revealed that the department prepared several new plays to be staged during the month of Ramadan.

The first premieres will be those by the National Theater Troupe presenting Nour Al-Tarik (Light of the Path) and the Modern Theatre Troupe which prepared Halawet El-Hob (Sweetness of Love). Both shows will start performances on 11 April at the National Theatre and Salam Theatre respectively.

Nour El-Tarik is written by Abdel-Rahim Kamal and directed by Mohamed El-Khouly. The play stars Ferdous Abdel Hamid, Khaled Al-Dhahabi and Bahaa Tharwat.

Halawet El-Hob is directed by Ahmed Ibrahim.

The Al-Talia Theatre (avant-garde theatre) will present its new show Shubra Mix (Mix of Shubra) directed by Mohamed Selim starting 13 April. The play is performing the text and poetry by Yousry Hassan.

Al-Saha Theater Company will stage Sahina Ya Sina directed by Essam El-Showeikh and written by Khamis Ezz Al-Arab. The play will be performed for four consecutive evenings, between 18 and 21 April at Prince Taz Palace.

The youngest audience will be able to enjoy The Great Night, an iconic puppet play presented by the Cairo Puppet Theatre. Written to the poetry of Salah Jaheen and with puppets by Nagy Shaker, the play will be staged between 12 and 26 April at the open air theatre in front of the Hanager Arts Centre

Al-Shams Theater Troupe for the Integration of People with Special Needs, will also offer a number of activities starting with a play titled Empty Piggy Bank on 15, 23, 24, 25 and 26 April at the International Garden Theatre in Nasr City. The same play will take the stage of the Hanager Arts Centre on 17 April.

The same troupe will also perform Zorar Waheed (The Only Button) on 14, 23, 24, 25 and 26 April at the International Garden Theatre in Nasr City. 

In Alexandria, the Alexandria Theatre Troupe presents the show I Was Here Before, the product of the first batch of the Start Your Dream workshop in Alexandria directed by Mohamed Morsi. The play will be performed on 16 April at the Lycée El Horreya theatre.
