Egypt premiere of Al-Hayba

In this revenge thriller the murderer of Jabal's father is spotted alive in Bulgaria. Jabal embarks on a journey that takes him to Bulgaria and Istanbul to bring the murderer back to Al-Hayba village to face justice. The film stars  Taim Hasan, Mona Wassef and Said Serhan.

Yehya Khalil concert

Egyptian Jazz musician Yehya Khalil and his band will perform a selection of his favourite compositions such as Crescendo, Hakawey El-Ahawy and Donia as well as some covers of Arabic and Western songs and music.

Arab Music Festival
From Thursday 20 October to Thursday 3 November
Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour Opera Houses

The 31st edition of the prestigious festival and conference is launching on Thursday with dozens of artists performing in three governorates.
This week features star performances at the Cairo Opera House by Hany Shaker (Saturday 22 October), Ragheb Alama (Sunday 23 October), Mohamed El-Helw and Ali El-Haggar (Monday 24 October), Ramy Ayach and Afaf Radi (Tuesday 25 October) as well as other concerts by other performers.

Organised by the Mastaba Centre, the show embodies the musical and dance heritage of the land of Nuba through a collective performance.

Anistoona is a play written by Karim Sami and Ahmed Abdel Wahab. It is directed by Khaled Galal and produced by Mohamed Ahmed El-Sobky. It stars Donia Samir Ghanim, Baiuomy Fouad, Karim Afify and Samy Moghawry

Yama Fel Gerab Ya Hawy

'Yama Fel Gerab Ya Hawy' is a play based on poet Bayram El-Tunsi's (1893-1961) adaptation of the Arabian Nights entitled 'Leila Men Alf Leila'. The play, which is directed by Magdy El-Hawary and produced by Cairo Show, is returning for a second season. It stars Yehia El-Fakharany alongside Eyad Nassar, Sama Ibrahim and Sherif Desouky as well as singers Mohamed El-Sharnouby and Carmen Soliman.

The well-known duo’s repertoire combines Oud arrangements for Arabic classics as well as some original works of their own.

India by the Nile festival
Running until Friday 21 October

The annual festival brings a wide range of Indian arts to Egypt. This week features a musical by Sanjoy.K.Roy entitled ‘The Music and the Magic: A Bollywood Love Story’.

The show takes place on Wednesday and Thursday at Cairo Opera House.
