Cairo Photo Week

Dubbed Back to Raw, the third edition of the Cairo Photo Week takes place across numerous venues in Downtown Cairo.

The event offers more than 100 educational activities such as talks, workshops, panels, demos, photo challenges, exhibitions, portfolio reviews, networking events, photo walks, markets, open studios, services, co-working spaces for photographers throughout the week.

It also brings together dozens of renowned speakers and mentors specialized in all genres of photography and image making.

Exhibition opening: Engrams of a Lunar Calendar

The exhibition continues until 30 April
Goethe-Institut Downtown, 15 Al Bustan Street, Cairo

The event is a solo exhibition by Rana Nemr, a transdisciplinary artist, whose work is anchored in questioning what it means to experience place and time. In this exhibition, she uses different materials, combined with various projections and printing techniques. She traces forms, patterns and sources of knowledge and invites visitors to reflect on the processes of absorbing them individually and collaboratively.

Flute & Bow concert
Wednesday 15 February, 7pm
Ewart Hall, Tahrir Cultural Centre - AUC, Tahrir Square, Cairo

Flute & Bow is an ensemble led by an award-winning flutist Rania Omar. The ensemble plays tango and other works from dance music repertoire. The compositions range between Western works and the well known tangos by Arabic composers as transposed on the Western flute and arranged for strings.

Helm Leilet 3ard, a theatre play
15 - 18 February, 8pm
Falaki Theatre, AUC

Hu Theatre troupe presents Helm Leilet 3ard, a comedy-drama that ventures into the dream worlds of a married couple on the night before their play. Khaled and Nancy are two struggling artists who are swept into their subconscious manifestations, finding themselves facing the sacrifices they've made, their doubts, and the threat of letting go of their dreams.

The play is written by Menna Hafez, Mark Refaat, Luke Lehner and directed by Luke Lehner

Alhamour H.A.

Based on true events that occurred in Jeddah in the early 2000s; the film tells the story of Hamour Sawwa, a famous fraudster businessman who collected around 400 million SAR from over 4,000 stakeholders with false promises of profit.
The film, which is the first production by Boulevard Studios, stars Fahad Alqahtani, Khaled Yeslam, Ali Alsharif, Ismael Alhasan, Fatima Albanawi, Khairiah Abulaban and others.

Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, along with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Irtigalia

The American standup comedian brings his show Reality Check within the artist’s ongoing world tour. The tickets to the event range between EGP 1200 (USD 40) and EGP 5000 (USD 160).
