Two lovers' fate is tied to having a child for the world, trapped in a closed room. As events unfold, they discover that their destiny is the search for freedom. While they agree on the vision, their paths diverge, each seeing freedom in their own way. The husband sacrifices everything for complete freedom, while the wife finds freedom in enjoying her surroundings and escaping complex problems.

This is the final performance of the Studio Emad Eddin Festival for Student Theatre.

The performance features traditional mawwal singing (a genre of traditional Arabic vocal music), accompanied by folklore singer Shaimaa El-Nubi.

Klaxics

Jesuit Cultural Center, 298 Port Said Street, Cleopatra, Alexandria

Founded and led by Dalia Ihab Younis, Klaxics is an Egyptian a-cappella ensemble. Klaxics (or Kalaxkeyat in Arabic) is a portmanteau of the words “klaxon” and “classics,” combining the everyday noise of klaxons with the art of classical singing. 

The Goldfish - film screening

Written and directed by Alireza Golafshan, this 2019 film is a feel-good comedy about tax evasion and disability.

The film stars Tom Schilling, Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, Lisa Bitter.

Interactive Theatre Performance: Irtigalia

American University in Cairo - Tahrir Square, main garden, Cairo

This live improvised and interactive comedy theatre show was founded by AUC Alum Ramsi Lehner ‘05. With no script or preparation, each sketch is decided by the audience making for an unpredictable once-in-a-lifetime experience.
