Last days of 31st Citadel Festival for Music and Singing

The 31st edition of the festival kicked off on 25 August and continues until 7 September, featuring numerous musicians at stages inside the Citadel. 

The final two days of the festival feature State of Harmony, Nesma Mahgoub, Lena Chamamyan, Talents Development Centre and Omar Khairat.

Last days of 30th Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre 

The festival opened on 1 September and continues until 8 September. The programme for the final days can be found on the festival’s Facebook page.

The 30th edition of the festival features 19 plays from Egypt and around the world, competing for the event's grand prize. One Egyptian play titled Frida will be performed on the sidelines of the festival competition. This year’s CIFET is presided over by Sameh Mahran, with Mohamed El-Shafei as its general coordinator.

Animatex Festival
Thursday-Saturday, 7-9 September

This year marks the 4th edition of the highly popular Animatex - Animation Art Festival, Egypt’s largest event dedicated to the art of animation.

Apart from film screenings, talks, workshops and seminars, Animatex is an important platform for students and professionals to meet, exchange ideas and discover new opportunities in the field.

Fouad and Mounib
Thursday 7 September, 7pm

Fouad and Mounib are a musical duo who have performed together since 2015, when the two musicians met on Facebook and began sharing their music. After a few months, they performed their first joint concert at Alexandria’s Creativity Centre. They have since performed at renowned venues including the Cairo Opera House and Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Arts Centre, and gone on tour to Morocco and Austria. The pair of musicians have recently pursued more ambitious creative endeavours, with Mounib creating arrangements for various ensembles and an orchestra.

Charlie - musical

Charlie is a musical play based on the life of Charlie Chaplin, examining his influence on the international film industry. The play tells his story from a human angle, shedding light on the difficulties that he overcame in his artistic career. 

Songs and stories with Hany Adel

A musical evening where Hany Adel will share moments that affected and inspired him as a person and an artist. 

Stand Up Comedy

The Elite Stand-Up Comedy Show presents Cairo's best stand-up comedians, showcasing their creative skills in what promises to be a highly entertaining evening.

Star Light Choir

The choir of young singers, led by Samah Ezzelarab, will perform well-known hits from the Western and Oriental repertoire, with the accompaniment of several instrumentalists.

Okba - concert

Okba is a Syrian musician. In this concert, he will take the audience on a trip down memory lane, showcasing a fusion of classic Arabic hits alongside trending new music.
