This is the second year in a row that the SITFY hosts Trost as part of its programming.

The workshop began a week prior to the festival's launch. Trost will work with the participants throughout the festival and the results of the workshop will be presented during the SITFY's closing ceremony.

Trost's workshop is available to all artists from Egypt and abroad provided they have passed an online interview. The workshop is provided free of charge to the selected students.

During the workshop, the director will present the Meisner technique - developed by late American actor and acting teacher Sanford Meisner. The technique constitutes the core of the Meisner Institute (based in the US) where Trost holds the position of Executive Director.

The institute's graduates include over 35 Hollywood stars, many of them Oscar winners.

The American coach, director, producer and writer studied theatre with the iconic artist Anthony Hopkins before continuing his education at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago where he studied various acting techniques developed by different masters such as Stanislavski, Chekhov, Strasberg, Adler, Grotowski, and Alexander.

The award-winning artist has been teaching acting for over 25 years in numerous countries around the world.

Trost has acted in multiple stage productions, films and TV shows.

As an actor, he launched his career with roles in By Dawn's Early Light (1989-1990) and Melrose Place (1991-98).

He then took roles in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1992-99), Murder One (1995-97), Aaron Gillespie Will Make You a Star (1997), with Scott Caan, and Elvis Took a Bullet (2001), to name just a few.

His most recent roles are those in short films such as The Letter (2017), La Comedia (2017), Purgatory Stories (2019), Terminal (2019), Virtuoso (2020) and A Modelled Life (2021), many of which he also produced.

He co-authored "All you Need to Know about the Movie & TV Business," published by Simon & Schuster in 1996.

Trost also works as an attorney, focusing on victims of domestic violence and asbestos poisoning.

He also produced, directed and wrote several films and plays.

The eighth edition of SITFY is scheduled to take place between 25 and 30 November 2023 in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Held annually, the SITFY is the first of its kind to be organised in Sinai. It was launched to provide opportunities to young theatre practitioners. It also aims to contribute to decentralising the artistic scene and to resuscitate tourism in South Sinai.

The SITFY's founder and president is Mazen El-Gharabawy, with Ingy El-Bastawi as artistic director.
