An open mic-event that will take place at culture centre Makan on Monday 27 August exploring issues relating to sexual harrassment.

Recognising the growing problem of sexual harassment on the streets of Egypt's cities, the event aims to empower women by inviting them to tell their stories.

According to the event's organisers, they hope to "give women and men the space to express themselves and to talk about solutions to this problem, while also helping to empower women to overcome their fears and concerns."

The event is supported by the US Embassay Cultural Events section.
