The events include a visual art exhibition, film screenings on a loop throughout the day, talks, and vendors from local grassroots organizations.

Among the highlights are three performances of The Revolution’s Promise, staged twice on Saturday and once on Sunday.

Created by The Freedom Theatre, a cultural centre in Jenin Refugee Camp and a community collective Artists on the Front Line, the show makes sure our voice is still heard internationally, whilst putting pressure on Israel to stop the attacks on artists," reads the theatre's statement released by the Cultural Intifada website.

The play is a collection of testimonies from 15 artists across Palestine telling stories of cultural resistance and artistic censorship, spanning as far back as the Nakba in 1948.

The festival also features a talk by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), which presents itself as "a transnational, independent, grassroots movement of young Palestinians in Palestine and in exile worldwide as a result of the ongoing Zionist colonization and occupation of their homeland."

Other segments of the two-day event include a comic monologue by Janan Araujo-Siam and a Q&A with the filmmaker Shahd Shahrour.

The Falasteen Arts Festival celebrates "Palestinian culture, art, and resistance through live performance, film, and visual art," reads the announcement posted by the festival's host, the Arab American Cultural and Community Centre, on its website.

Located in Houston, USA, the centre aims to "promote cross-cultural understanding and combat stereotypes and misconceptions about Arab Americans," through fostering community connections, inclusion, and cultural diversity.
