The festival, scheduled to take place from 17 October to 10 November, will showcase 124 artists from 21 countries.
D-CAF will feature 23 varied performances, encompassing dance, theatre, audiovisual presentations, and interactive experiences.
It will also offer a lineup of two exhibitions and nine workshops.
In an attempt to showcase Downtown Cairo’s social and architectural richness, events will be hosted in venues such as Festival Hub, Kodak Passageway, Rawabet Arts Space, Bayt Al-Sinnari, Victoria Apartment, Studio Nasabian, Falaki Theatre, Studio Emad Eddin, The Warehouse, and Diwan Bookstore
Several venues are located in quarters bordering Downtown Cairo, such as Greater Cairo Library in Zamalek, Institut Francais in Mounira, and Cairo Contemporary Dance Centre (CCDC) in Agouza.
Meanwhile, Alexandria will welcome the festival's audience at the Jesuit Cultural Centre.
This year, among the important components of D-CAF is Taste Me, an Egyptian-French interactive performance which blends culinary arts with live theatre.
Moreover, the Egyptian all-female foundation Mazg for Culture and Arts will showcase their comic book exhibition: Where Do Dreams Go?
Sudan and Egypt will present their collaborative contemporary dance performance: Manger Les Mots.
The UK, a returning participant, will debut the Table Top Shakespeare performance in the Arab region for the first time.
Palestinian artist Hala Alnaji will present her visual arts exhibition Nazeh's Lexicon: The Language of Displacement, which explores the theme of displacement experienced by many Palestinians.
The theatre performance Dressing Room Workshop: Embodied Stories of Women Over Fifty marks another Palestinian presence in collaboration with a Syrian artist.
Furthermore, the D-CAF will feature three performances from Lebanon: What If Those Tears Were Not Only Mine?, Nazar, and Transit Tripoli.
The Czech Republic will also participate in this edition with movement, vocal, and feedback workshops, along with a movement performance.
Austria will be represented by Ana Marwan's workshop on the renowned novelist Franz Kafka's book Before the Law.
Among other European countries whose presence is highlighted this year at D-CAF are France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, and Italy.
