The festival’s celebratory events will begin on the evening of 3 February with a folkloric parade touring the Aswan Tourist Market, reaching Abbas El-Akkad Cultural Palace, in a celebratory scene highlighting both Egyptian and international folk arts.

This will be followed by a river parade of sailboats starting at 10am on 4 February, taking off from the Aswan Marina in front of the City Council.

The official opening ceremony will then be held at 7pm on the same day at the Fawzy Fawzy Summer Theatre.

The following days, the festival will feature the participation of six folkloric troupes from Egypt, affiliated with the Cultural Palaces in Aswan, Al-Arish, Port Said, Kafr El-Sheikh, Al-Anfoushi, and Beni Suef.

They will be joined by nine international folkloric troupes from Greece, Sudan, Palestine, Latvia, India, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, and Montenegro.

The performances will be held at 17 different cultural and tourist venues across Aswan Governorate, including the Fawzy Fawzy Summer Theatre, a number of cultural palaces and libraries, Station Square, associations, and youth centres, allowing local audiences and visitors to enjoy the festive atmosphere throughout the governorate.

The festival will conclude with a major artistic gala on 9 February at the Fawzy Fawzy Summer Theatre.

The Aswan International Festival of Culture and Arts activities are implemented through the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs, headed by artist Ahmed Al-Shafie, along with the General Administration of Festivals and the General Administration of Folk Arts, in cooperation with the South Upper Egypt Cultural Region and the Aswan Culture Branch. The activities take place under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, and Major General Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan.
