Cairo's Bikya Maadi will celebrate Ramadan in a new way by hosting a vegetarian night, where guests will bring and share their favourite home-made dishes.
On the event's Facebook page the guests, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, are urged to mention what dishes they will bring along.
The events will include some musical performances and live music by a number of underground artists, such as Aya Metwalli and Ahmed Safi El-Din.
Aya Metwalli is a solo guitarist and singer of Arabic melodies. Most of her songs are known for mixing prose with unconventional song structures. Her songs include: "Hodour We Gheyab," "Daftar Safari," and "The Winter Song."
The lineup also includes a solo performance by Ahmed Safi El-Din, who has worked with many underground bands, such as ‘High on Bodyfat’ and ‘El-Zabaleen.’
During the event, the audience is invited to bring their own musical instruments and join the artists in an open jam session.
