Benali, 53, who is on a world tour, is performing in Canada, the Netherlands and Belgium this month.
Her visit to Egypt will also include a masterclass and concert at Alexandria’s Institut français on 15 and 16 November.
The Zamalek Theatre concert will also host a performance by Egyptian band El-Masryeen, formed by the legendary composer Hani Shenouda, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2021 Cairo Jazz Festival this month.
Benali, who is a singer, composer, songwriter, actress and graphic designer, started her music career at the age of 19, becoming a prominent figure in the Arab music scene after her first solo album, the self-produced Nada, was released in 2002.
Born in Belgium in 1968, Benali grew up in her family’s Tunisian hometown of Zarzis.
She is known for fusing musical traditions from the East and West, mixing classical Arabic styles with jazz and Indian music, which reflects her multicultural background and fascination with Arab music legends.
Benali has performed in different venues in Egypt dozens of times and was featured with prominent musicians, including Grammy Award winner Fathy Salama.
