The JFF screening list includes some big hits from Japanese theatres in 2021, such as ‘Under the Open Sky’, ‘Aristocrats’, and ‘It’s a Summer Film’, in addition to documentaries like ‘SUMODO — The Successors of Samurai’ and ‘The God of Ramen.’

Two animated films from director Yasuhiro Yoshiura — ‘Time of EVE the Movie’ and ‘Patema Inverted’ — will be featured in addition to Akira Kurosawa’s classic ‘RASHOMON.’

Running for the second year in a row, the JFF is a project by the Japan Foundation that was created with the aim to share the excitement of Japanese cinema with the world.

Watching the films is free of charge but viewers must register for the festival on its website.
