On Friday, Ali El-Haggar and his orchestra will take to the stage, one day before Medhat Saleh’s concert, both of which will be performing some of their most songs that include a variety of romantic, patriotic, and film and TV themes, as well as classic Arabic covers.

Located over 430 kilometres south of Cairo, the sacred city of Abydos is one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt and was the site of many ancient temples, including the Temples of Great Osiris, Kom El-Sultan, Mahat Chapel of Mentuhotep II, Osireion, Ramesses II. and Seti I.

Under the authority of the Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Abydos Music Festival comes as part of a programme in various Upper Egyptian cities that also includes the second edition of the Dendara Music Festival that is kicking off this weekend in Qena.
