El-Fashni, who is known for performing the Middle Eastern form of singing “mawal”, will perform some of his originals like ‘Safar Habibi’, ‘Ayam’, ‘Zay El-Badr’ and ‘Ana Gaylek’ as well as classic oriental covers.
In June, El-Fashni performed a successful concert in the Nile Delta’s city of El-Menufia, during the governorate’s celebration of its national day.
The talented performer, who took part in the country’s reopening ceremony of the of the Avenue of Sphinxes last winter, came to prominence after singing the theme song of the 2017 Ramadan TV series ‘Wahet El-Ghoroub’. Later on, he was featured in the theme song of the series ‘Tayea’, quickly becoming one of the favourite choices for TV drama themes.
Appearing in a few parts in TV and films, including ‘’Saheb El-Maqam’, El-Fashni established his fame collaborating with numerous singers and bands such as Mohamed Tharwat, Mahmoud Eltohamy, Ihab Yunis, Mohamed Sa’ad, Cairokee, and Basata bands, among others.
The experienced percussionist started his career over a decade ago as a vocalist and a riq player performing with a number of well-known musicians like Sharkiat's Fathy Salama, the Yehya Khalil band, and Ali El-Haggar. He also performed at various venues and festivals across the globe.
The four-day Islamic feast of Eid El-Adha will start in Egypt on Saturday 9 July.
