Thurs 7, 8pm: The Embassy of Chile in Egypt and D-CAF Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival present the Chilean group La Licuadora which will perform their famous artwork “Ruido”. Sound, dance, and cinema combine in “Ruido”, a trans-disciplinary piece conceived at the intersection of live performance and audiovisual technology. “Ruido” means “noise” in Spanish, and through its avant-garde blend of high-tech and raw human sensitivity, the piece’s self-proclaimed aim is to explore noise as the organic edge of technology. The performance is a highly immersive sensory journey, meant to be experienced in real-time as it unfolds.

Sat 9, 9pm: Maqam Fantasie group is one of Mohamed Antar’s projects based on the principle characteristics of the traditional modal Waslas of the different modal musical traditions. It bears many similarities with the traditional Waslas especially in the basic shape and philosophy, yet it does not rely on the traditional known musical forms used in these traditions.

Thurs 14, 9pm: Gouda Bar, an original instrumental music project by composer and Oud player Aly Eissa, his compositions are based on diverse musical influences, creating a versatile, spiritual and meditative atmosphere throughout the musical journey.
