Though the holy month of Ramadan is known as a time for spirituality and worship, it’s also an occasion to celebrate and spend quality time with family and friends over Iftar, Suhour, or other traditional festivities. This means that Ramadan is also a time for fashion.

Fashionable traditional outfits like kaftans, kimonos, galabeyas and abayas have become part of the month’s ritual in recent years and are now no less important than Ramadan’s main traditions like dates, nuts, and lanterns that can all give you Ramadan vibes.

There has been a steady rise in the popularity of these outfits as a result, and many fashion houses are taking Ramadan fashions into account, elevating their sophistication and adding modern touches. From kimonos to kaftans and more, here are some fashionable outfits to add to your wardrobe this Ramadan.

Kimonos: If you like a boho style, kimonos are a great piece to consider because they come in beautiful prints and work well even for modest looks due to their flowy nature. So, if you want to try a new look for Ramadan, you can wear a kimono with your favourite jeans and a simple T-shirt, or with a dress for a more dressy look, or even with a comfy outfit for an all-loose look.

Abayas: Colour combinations as well as the mix of vertical stripes and floral and geometrical patterns can give an abaya a daring and modern twist. Abayas are appropriate for the holy month, as they are lightweight while still being modest and combine comfort and fashion well.

Galabeyas: Many of us may easily gain weight in Ramadan, and a flowing cotton galabeya can effortlessly hide any extra pounds. You can match one with cool flat sneakers for a more fashionable look.

Kaftans: Aside from being breezy and lightweight, one of the best things about kaftans is their flexibility. They are styled for a loose fit with wide sleeves and a maxi-length cut. You can tie a kimono so that it is closed at the waist with a belt, or wear it open to showcase a summer outfit underneath.
