Rejuvenating post-summer skin

Summer is over, and your sun-kissed skin glow is slowly fading away. After those scorching sunny days with lots of air-conditioning, it’s now time to adjust your skincare routine and give your skin some healing for the cooler weather ahead.

Rejuvenating your skin can be your go-to skincare plan as the weather turns colder. It can help your skin to retain its healthy appearance by keeping it well-hydrated, plumped, and functioning optimally. It can also help to restore the skin barrier. When this is working as it should, it can help the skin to retain moisture and stay hydrated.

Autumn is the perfect season to enjoy certain fruits and vegetables, not only to maintain a healthy diet, but also to include them in your skincare routine and make homemade face masks that can help you keep a healthy and radiant complexion.

Here are some fruit-flavoured masks made at home that can make your skin glow.

Apple mask: This is a moisturising facial mask. Puree a quarter of an apple and then blend with one egg yolk and one teaspoonful of honey. Blend until you get a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Grapes mask: This is a nourishing and refreshing mask. Blend ten large grapes, one teaspoonful of freshly squeezed lemon juice, one teaspoonful of honey, and one teaspoonful of plain yoghurt well in a blender until you get a smooth mixture. Apply the mask to your face and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
