The International Painting Competition “United Against Corona – Express Through Art”, launched by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) during the COVID-19 pandemic, elicited an overwhelming response from all over the world.
Egypt was among the four countries with the greatest number of participants, and the Egyptian artist Omar Seddek Mustafa won a prize in the Digital & New Age Art category.
Intended to encouraging artists to express their emotions, ideas and thoughts in the fight against COVID-19, the competition opened on 2 April 2020 and the deadline for entries was 1 May.
More than 8,000 works from different countries were submitted, 210 of which were shortlisted after the first round of selection. The final jury evaluated and decided on the winners in each category. The results can be seen on https://iccr4art.com/
The 210 shortlisted works will be on display as an online exhibition.
