“Princess Fawzia: The Duality of Egyptian Womanhood Through Western and Egyptian Eyes”, exhibition showcases how Egyptian women are portrayed in the national and international media through the life of Princess Fawzia, the sister of King Farouk — the last monarch to rule Egypt — and the first wife of the Shah of Iran (8 August- 31 October).

It is held in cooperation with the Egyptian Caricature Society (22 August-19 September).

Eastern Exhibitions Hall

“Arabic Topography”, the BA and the French Cultural Institute in Egypt present this exhibition dedicated to the art of printed Arabic letters as part of the 2019 France-Egypt Cultural Year. It covers several centuries of calligraphy creation: posters from the Arab world from the capital of Algeria to Beirut in the 1870s and 1980s, the history of printed Arabic letters from the 16th to the 21st century, and finally a selected creations of printed letters by contemporary artists (11September- 6 October).
