Mon 18 - Thurs 28 July: The 17th round of Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Book Fair. The fair is held under the slogan “Awareness and Building the Man”. This year, the fair includes 75 cultural events, with the participation of more than 300 speakers and lecturers. The cultural programme accompanying the BA’s fair also presents an important set of workshops on the arts of writing (novel - short story - script - radio drama - very short story - criticism), in addition to a translation workshop and an Arab calligraphy workshop.
A number of prominent names will participate in this year’s round, led by the writer Ibrahim Abdel-Meguid, Haitham Al-Haj Ali, Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari, writer Ali bin Tamim, writer Omar Taher, journalist and writer Sayed Mahmoud, novelist and poet Alaa Khaled, translator Hisham Fahmy, novelist Reem Bassiouni, writer Walid Fikry, and many more.
