Sun 3, 7-9pm: “Lebanon’s current Political Status: Challenges and Opportunities,” Tahrir Dialogue presents speaker Professor Nassif Hitti, professor of International Relations and Middle East Studies, Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK). The dialogue is moderated by Ibrahim Awad, Director of Centre for Migration and Refugees Studies.

Sun 3, 9.30-11.30am: “Accreditation or Ranking in Higher Education: Which is Which,” symposium is hosted by the AUC, in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, The Supreme Council of Universities, The Association of Arab Universities and The Egyptian National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). It aims to raise awareness about the value of international accreditation and ranking.
Speakers at the opening session are Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, minister of higher education; Mohamed Lotayef, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Universities; Amr Salama, secretary general of the Association of Arab Universities; Youhansen Eid, president of the NAQAAE; Francis Ricciardone, president of AUC; Ehab Abdel-Rahman, provost; and Eman Megahed, chief knowledge and strategy officer, AUC.
Mon 4, 1-2pm: “Legal Classifications and Their Global Impact: Understanding American Notions of Terrorism,” the second lecture by Wadie Edward Said, Professor of Law at the University of South Carolina, USA, part of the Provost Lecture Series.
