Sat 18, 8pm: “Ladies of Letters:Yara Khoury Nammour”, Lebanese graphic designer Yara Khoury Nammour is the third speaker is for the July TYPE talk series ‘Ladies of Letters.’ Stay tuned for this live talk with Nammouron Instagram. Nammour is an award-winning Lebanese graphic designer, type designer, academic and author. She holds a Master’s Degree in Art and Design at Middlesex University in the UK. She worked as a design director at Al Mohtaraf, between 2001 and 2017. Yara has taught as a part-time instructor in several universities and is currently Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the American University of Beirut. For 20 years, she has been an inspiring educator whose students have moved on to become some of the most influential Arab type designers in the world today.
The Virtual Reading Club of Cervantes Institute, which provides the opportunity to read and discuss a literary book via the Internet, continues in July.

The Italian Cultural Institute

As for the teaching of the Italian language, the Institute continues to provide its students at home with courses covering all levels of the language taught.
“Parla come mangi” (Speak as you Eat) is the first video series created by IIC Cairo and dedicated to students of the Italian language which was edited by the institute’s professors of the Italian language courses, which search and even display various expressions of the vernacular Italian language, which is often similar to the Egyptian one, in addition to gestures, sayings and lifestyles.
In addition, registration for the online conversation course (August 2020 summer course) is open from 19 July to 2 August.
