Novelist Youssef Zidan gives a lecture on Sufism at the House of Arab Poetry

Thurs 6, 7.30pm: “Unpacking the Drafts Egyptian Personal Status Law” as an Egyptian citizen, do you know your family and personal status rights? Join this dynamic session with Azza Soliman, co-founder of the Center for Egyptian Women’s Legal Assistance (CEWLA), as she decrypts the draft Egyptian Status Law and the controversy around it.  Soliman is an Egyptian lawyer, and woman human rights defender, she has worked on women’s rights issues for over 25 years. She also worked as a consultant to Arab governments and feminist non-governmental organizations in Iraq, UAE, Jordan and Bahrain, where she assisted in drafting reports submitted to the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
