Ahmed, Magistretti Distinguished Professor of M.E. Languages and Cultures Professor, Arabic and Islamic Studies Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, Director, Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) at University of California, Berkeley. 

Sun 7, 3-5pm: “Simple Generation and the Semantics of Impossible Objects: Some Discussions from the Sullam of al-Bihari (d.1707 CE)” an exciting seminar by keynote speaker Asad Q. Ahmed,  

Thurs 11, 10am-11:30am: Highly accomplished and respected leader Dr. Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Al Habtoor Group Chairman, will give a talk as he shares insights into his business philosophy, philanthropic and humanitarian work, and efforts to advance East-West understanding. In conversation with Sherif Kamel ’88, ’90, ’13, Dean of the School of Business, and Noha El-Mikawy ’82, Dean of the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
