Tues 23, 11am (Free and open to the public): “Unlocking Barriers to Research” seminar discusses the concept of open science and its importance in making knowledge available to all. It will also discuss the role of international and regional institutions in supporting open science efforts and everyone’s right to access knowledge. This contributes to supporting researchers, especially in developing countries. Keynote speakers at the seminar are; Prof. Abdel-Aziz Qansouh; President of Alexandria University and former governor of Alexandria Governorate, Prof. Mahmoud Saqr; President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Prof. Amr Adel Adly; President of the Egyptian-Japanese University for Science and Technology (E-JUST), and Dr. Nizar Hassan; Senior Adviser for Science and Technology for Arab Countries at UNESCO, and moderated by Prof. Yousri El-Gamal, former Minister of Education.
