Fade Eadeh, Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at Seattle University, who will discuss how anger drives attitude change and the appeal of conservatism in response to terrorist threats.

Mon 13 May, 1-2pm: Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at Seattle University Fade Eadeh gives an interesting talk on how threatening events can impact political beliefs and behaviors. The discussion will focus on topics such as terrorism, COVID-19, and environmental threats. During the talk, Dr. Eadeh will provide an overview of the major theories on threat and political behaviors to determine which theory is best equipped to explain how threatening events can shape people's political preferences and behaviors.

Mon 29, 6pm: A presentation of Amedeo Gillet's book La mia tela yemenita (My Yemeni Canvas). Professor Alfredo Gilet, the book's editor, will discuss the book with a group of distinguished figures from the academic and diplomatic world, who will present a profile of Amedeo Gillet from a military and historical-diplomatic point of view. The book is edited by Rosangela Baroni and Alfredo Gillet, and published by ISMEO Institute with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The author, Amedeo Gillet, a former Royal Army officer and Italian Ambassador to the Middle East, Africa and Asia, examines the important role played by Italian diplomacy in the Middle East during the Cold War.

The book presentation will be followed by a screening of a documentary film about Gillet's life, followed by an interactive discussion with the audience. Languages: Italian and Arabic (simultaneous translation).
