Thurs 24, 1- 2pm: Join an English book talk discussing "Dismantling Green Colonialism: Energy and Climate Justice in the Arab Region". This collection explores the Arab region's unique position at the intersection of substantial fossil fuel reserves, histories of colonialism, and immense potential for green energy. The authors challenge Eurocentric narratives and advocate for a class-conscious approach to climate justice across diverse Arab countries. Speakers: Hamza Hamouchene, a London-based Algerian researcher-activist, commentator and a founding member of Algeria Solidarity Campaign (ASC), Environmental Justice North, Asmaa Mohamed Amin, an energy engineer and specialist based in Jordan, and Mohamed Gad, a researcher in international finance and political economy.

Mon 28, 1pm - 2pm: "Qahwa and Kalam: From Turtle Island to Palestine – History in a Time of Genocide" interesting talk will  feature Katherine Blouin, Associate Professor of Ancient History, University of Toronto, where she shares some reflections on what the last year has taught her about the intimate relationship between ancient history and modern settler colonialism.
