Rehlat Al-Zaman Al-Gamil (A Journey to the Good Time), a child play about some children who travel to the Pharaonic era written by Yehia Zakaria, puppets and costumes by Nagui Shaker, décor by Mohamed Saad and directed by Mohamed Nour

Small Theatre 

Afrah Alqoba, play produced by the Youth Theatre Company is based on Naguib Mahfouz novel bearing the same name. It casts Mohamed Youssef, Samar Allam, Fatema Adel, Mena Nabil and many more. Décor and lighting by Amr Al-Ashraf, costumes designed by Abeer Badrawi, movement designs by Monadel Antar. It is written and directed by Mohamed Youssef Almansour 

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 8pm).

 

The Japan Foundation

The Japan Foundation, Cairo presents free online viewing of the Yumehina Puppet Theatre, one of the most famous and creative traditional puppet theatre companies in Japan. The company will perform the puppet performance “Incarnation”, by Michika Iida, which is basically addressing adults, on The Japan Foundation Youtube channel for a limited period – only 5 days – from Wednesday 17 March to Sunday 21 March, 4pm, as in the following link:

Qawaaid Al-Ashq Al-Arbaain (The Fourty Rules of Love), a play starring Bahaa Tharwat, Fawziya, Ezzat Zein, Dina Ahmed, singer Amira Abu-Zeid, religious chanter Samir Azmi, together with the Arab Mawlawiya troupe among others, with dramaturgy by Rasha Abdel-Moneim, music composed by Mohamed Hosni, décor Mustafa Hamed, costumes by Maha Abdel-Rahman and directed by Adel Hassan (Performances run daily except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8pm).

Recycle, an improvisation show tackles the idea of the possibility of recycling the expired man to restore humanity through a group of sketches about social issues like marriage, education, and sexual harassment. It’s directed by Mohamed El-Sagheir with Ahmed Raouf’s music, Monadel Antar’s choreography and Abeer El-Badrawy’s styling (Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, 7pm).

Hekayat Al-Sayyad wa Amir Albehar (The story of the fisherman and the prince of seas), play casts Alaa Zeinhom, Salma Gaber and many more, written and directed by Ehab Mabrouk and Lesa Faker (you still remember) play written by Mohamed Morsi, starring Ahmed Askar, Bousi Alhawary and directed by Sameh Alkhodary. Both plays are presented as part of “The Egyptian Writer” initiative
