The Theatre Programme presents Ancient Games and Set in Stone two original one-act plays. Ancient Games is written by the Cairo Writer’s Lab (Hana Iskander, Omar Omar, Nour El-Captan, Rola Abdallah, Jillian Campana) and directed by Maryam ShafikSet in Stone by Yussef El-Guindi is directed by Amira El-Shorbagy. Seats are limited, and entrance is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that it is a must to show your vaccination proof on the gate.

Rehlat Al-Zaman Al-Gamil (A Journey to the Good Time), a children play about some children who travel to the Pharaonic era written by Yehia Zakaria, puppets and costumes by Nagui Shaker, décor by Mohamed Saad and directed by Mohamed Nour

Small Theatre 

Afrah Alqoba, play produced by the Youth Theatre Company is based on Naguib Mahfouz novel bearing the same name. It casts Abdel-Moneim Riyad, Mohamed Tamer, Samar Allam, Fatema Adel, Mena Nabil and many more. Décor and lighting by Amr Al-Ashraf, costumes designed by Abeer Badrawi, movement designs by Monadel Antar. It is written and directed by Mohamed Youssef Almansour

W Ba'adein (and then) is an abstract play about love and loss that uses time, thoughts, memories and the subconscious as integral elements to magnify how some love stories - no matter how beautiful - are simply doomed from the start. It casts Mary Aravanis, Kareem Hossam, with 

stage manager Nadine Ramzy, assistant stage manager Mayar Abdel- Kader, set design by Lina Said, sound design by Marwan Rizkallah

light design by Ezz Helmy, assistant directors Laila Ghoneim 

and Youssef Amir, written and directed by Mary Aravanis

Al-Qawmi (The National) Theatre

Fi Entizar Baba (Waiting for Daddy) play is an adaptation of an ancient Greek Iliad poem of Homer with the application of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud’s analysis of the ‘Electra complex’, portraying mythical characters in a series of complicated situations. The play casts actors Samah Anwar, Ahmed Salama, Entisar, Moufid Ashour, and many more, with music composed by Ahmed El-Nasser, choreography designed by Dia’a Shafiq, décor built up by Ehab El-Awamry, and directed by Samir El-Asfoury

(Performances run daily except Wednesdays, 9pm).

The Animals’ Lawsuit Against Humanity play tells a story when a thunderstorm results in a human shipwreck on an island inhabited by animals. Tension arises between the two parties and animals resort to the court to file complaints against the atrocities of humans 

(10 March (6pm), 11 March (6pm), 12 March (1pm), 12 March (6pm) and 13 March (6pm).

Salah Abdel-Sabour Hall

Farida play, produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, starring Aida Fahmy is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s play Swan Song, written and directed by Akram Mustafa. It is about an actress who recalls the ups and downs of her artistic journey    

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 6.30pm). 

Zaki Tolaimat Hall

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, play produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, is a novel by Victor Hugo. It features actors George Ashraf, Yehia Mahmoud, Mariam Al-Guindy, Heba Qenawy, décor by Hamdy Attia and costumes designed by Naaima Agamy, and directed by Nasser Abdel-Moneim

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 7.30pm).
