The Cairo Puppet Theatre

Rehlat Al-Zaman Al-Gamil (A Journey to the Good Time), a children play about some children who travel to the Pharaonic era written by Yehia Zakaria, puppets and costumes by Nagui Shaker, décor by Mohamed Saad and directed by Mohamed Nour

Small Theatre 

Afrah Alqoba, play produced by the Youth Theatre Company is based on Naguib Mahfouz novel bearing the same name. It casts Abdel-Moneim Riyad, Mohamed Tamer, Samar Allam, Fatema Adel, Mena Nabil and many more. Décor and lighting by Amr Al-Ashraf, costumes designed by Abeer Badrawi, movement designs by Monadel Antar. It is written and directed by Mohamed Youssef Almansour

Malak Opera Theatre

Beauty and the Beast, a play for children casts Bahaa Tharwat, Sayed Ragab, Hanaa Said, Ayman Beshay, Nashwa Hassan and many more, written by Nasser Mahmoud and directed by Mahmoud Hassan (Performances run daily, 7pm). 

 

 

Al-Qawmi (The National) Theatre

Fi Entizar Baba (Waiting for Daddy) play is an adaptation of an ancient Greek Iliad poem of Homer with the application of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud’s analysis of the ‘Electra complex’, portraying mythical characters in a series of complicated situations. The play casts actors Samah Anwar, Ahmed Salama, Bouthaina Rashwan, Moufid Ashour, and many more, with music composed by Ahmed El-Nasser, choreography designed by Dia’a Shafiq, décor built up by Ehab El-Awamry, and directed by Samir El-Asfoury

(Performances run daily except Wednesdays, 9pm).

 

 

 

Al-Salam Theatre

Falaki Theatre

The Theatre Programme presents Ancient Games and Set in Stone two original one-act plays. Ancient Games is written by the Cairo Writer’s Lab (Hana Iskander, Omar Omar, Nour El-Captan, Rola Abdallah, Jillian Campana) and directed by Maryam Shafik.  Set in Stone by Yussef El-Guindi is directed by Amira El-Shorbagy. 

Seats are limited, and entrance is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that it is a must to show your vaccination proof on the gate. (21, 22, and 23 March, 7pm, free admission and open to the public).

AFCA Arts Days for Children is commemorating the World Day of Theatre for children and young people this March! Launching the first edition of AFCA Arts Days for Children in 2022, AFCA proudly presents a showcase of the 2022 season productions produced by AFCA Arts Center in collaboration with local and international artists focused on different art experiences for the younger audience.

Salah Abdel-Sabour Hall

Farida play, produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, starring Aida Fahmy is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s play Swan Song, written and directed by Akram Mustafa. It is about an actress who recalls the ups and downs of her artistic journey    

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 6.30pm). 

Zaki Tolaimat Hall

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, play produced by Taliaa Theatre Company, is a novel by Victor Hugo. It features actors George Ashraf, Yehia Mahmoud, Mariam Al-Guindy, Heba Qenawy, décor by Hamdy Attia and costumes designed by Naaima Agamy, and directed by Nasser Abdel-Moneim

(Performances run on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 7.30pm).
