The Cairo Puppet Theatre

Rehlat Al-Zaman Al-Gamil (A Journey to the Good Time), a children play about some children who travel to the Pharaonic era written by Yehia Zakaria, puppets and costumes by Nagui Shaker, décor by Mohamed Saad and directed by Mohamed Nour

The Floating Theatre

Small Theatre 

Caligula play by Albert Camus is the latest theatrical production of the Youth Theatre Company. It casts Mohamed Ali Rizk, Rabab Tarek, Otaka, Mohamed Diab, and many more. Lighting by Abu-Bakr El-Sherif, music by Mohamed Khaled, movement designs by Hany Hassan. It is directed by Mohamed Ezz Eddin 

(Performances run daily, 7pm).

 

 

Metropol (The Children’s National) Theatre

Beauty and the Beast, a play for children casts Bahaa Tharwat, Sayed Ragab, Hanaa Said, Ayman Beshay, Nashwa Hassan and many more, written by Nasser Mahmoud and directed by Mahmoud Hassan (Performances run daily, 7pm). 

 

 

Al-Qawmi (The National) Theatre

Al-Hafeed (The Grandson) play is an adaptation of author Abdel-Hamid Gouda Al-Sahar’s novel. It is a social comedy about the Egyptian family that suffers from the negative impact of customs and traditions on its members and their psychology. The play casts actors Lucy, Abed Enany, Tamer Farag, Mohamed Mabrouk, Rana Khattab and many more, with music composed by Karim Arafa, lighting designed by Hazem Ahmed, décor built up by Hamdy Attiya, and directed by Youssef Al-Mansour (Performances run daily, 9pm).

 

 

Al-Salam Theatre

Hamlet Belmaqloub (Hamlet inside out) play casts Amr Al-Qady, Khaled Mahmoud, Samar Gaber, Nehad Said, and a number of budding actors, with décor and lighting by Sobhy El-Sayyed, costumes designed by Marwa Aouda, written by Sameh Mahran and directed by Mazen Al-Gharabawi (Performances run daily except Tuesdays, 9pm).

The Trip of My Life, embark on an unforgettable theatrical creation in Arabic and French, by the Compagnie des Petits Champs and Orient production, you will leave Normandy to go down the Nile in the 1850s. This re-reading of the initiatory journey of one of the most important French novelists of the 19th century is a unique opportunity to re-discover Egypt through the stories of Gustav Flaubert, adapted from his novel Voyage en Orient. The French Institute of Egypt thus celebrates the bicentenary of the birth of Gustave Flaubert, in collaboration with the Normandy region. Adaptation and staging by Daniel San Pedro, translation by Shady Hosseini, musical direction by Mohamed El-Menjra. It casts Louis Berthélémy (actor), Stéphane Facco (actor), Nanda Mohamed (actress), Mustafa Jimmy (dancer), with Salma Amr Zohdi (musician), John Samy (musician), Light design by Alban Sauvé, assistant director Stéphane Facco 

(Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June, 8pm).

Love in the Time of Cholera play is based on Nobel prize winner Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez’s novel carrying the same name. The play casts actors Dina Ahmed, Mohamed Farid, Aya Khalaf, Mahmoud El-Betar and many more, with music composed by Walid El-Shahawi, lighting designed by Ezz Helmy, décor built up by Mina Reda, new theatrical vision by Mina Bebawy and directed by Al-Said Mansy 

(Performances run daily for 15 days only until Thursday 9 June, 9pm).
