Already qualified to the quarterfinals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Egypt’s male handball team will face an easy mission against Bahrain in the final matchday of the preliminary round of Group B early on Sunday.
The Pharaohs are 2nd in Group B with 6 points after claiming 3 victories over Portugal, Japan, and Sweden, and one loss against World Champions Denmark in the previous games.
Egypt’s handball team, who are eyeing their first ever Olympic medal in handball, are scheduled to face Bahrain at 04:00, Cairo local time (GMT+2).
“We will concentrate on the game against Bahrain to secure an advanced place in the group’s ranking,” Egyptian handball legend Ahmed El-Ahmar told a television programme.
“We accomplished a great achievement by reaching the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games after 20 years of absence, so we have to concentrate on every game we will play without thinking about our opponents in the next round,” El-Ahmar added.

The game will start at 04:00 Cairo local time (GMT+2).
