Egypt's Mostafa Hassan qualified for the final of the men's shot put after a superb show on Tuesday.
Hassan sealed progress with a throw of 21.23 meters, finishing third out of 16 participants in Group A.
The throw was his personal best, bettering the 21.31 meters he set in California at the 2017 Mt. SAC Relays.
Hassan's best achievements were winning two gold medals at the Arab Championships in 2015 and 2019.
He competed at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing but could not reach the final.
Hassan will contest the men's shot put final on Thursday as he bids for a historic medal.
