Cote d’Ivoire football legend Kolo Touré asked his former national team to be cautious ahead of the game on Wednesday against Egypt in the round of last 16 of the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The 40-year-old former defender believes that Egypt have more talented players in their squad that can make the difference against Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday.

“Liverpool’s Salah is the most dangerous player in Egypt’s squad, alongside Aston Villa winger Trézéguet, so Cote d’Ivoire players should be cautious,” Touré told Egyptian TV channel El-Mehwar late on Sunday.

“Wednesday’s game will be difficult for Cote d’Ivoire,” Touré said.

“I advise Egypt’s Salah to stay in Liverpool to be the team’s legend,” the Man City and Liverpool former defender Touré added.

Egypt opened their AFCON campaign by losing 0-1 to Nigeria before beating their Group D opponents Guinea Bissau and Sudan 1-0 in each game respectively to book a place in the AFCON’s last 16.

Cote d’Ivoire opened their AFCON campaign by beating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 before being held to a 2-2 draw with Sierra Leone and beating Algeria 3-1 in the final game of the Group E games to advance to the last 16.
