Palestinian and Egyptian sources reported on Monday morning that a 5-hour ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the south of the Gaza Strip would take effect at 9am local time on Monday morning to allow for the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the evacuation of foreign citizens from the strip.

Meanwhile, the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza remains closed.
Tens of trucks carrying humanitarian aid and medical supplies are waiting on the Egyptian side of the border crossing to deliver aid to 2.3 million Palestinians.
