"So far, we have received requests from various countries for the release of their citizens. As a result, we started to discuss these issues, especially with the political wing of Hamas," Turkey's top diplomat.
Turkey is actively working to prevent the spread of conflict to Lebanon and other countries, Fidan said during a joint press conference in Beirut with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdallah Bou Habib.
Ankara's efforts are focused on averting further escalation of conflicts and urgently providing aid to Gaza, he stressed.
Bou Habib expressed his concerns about the Israeli attacks in Lebanon's southern regions, saying such actions pose a potential threat to further escalate the crisis.
Israeli troops killed four militants attempting to infiltrate from Lebanon, Israel's army said Tuesday, as tensions are running high along the border between the two countries.
In a press conference with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry in Cairo on Saturday, Fidan affirmed the necessity to prevent the geographical spread of the ongoing conflict.
Fidan also thanked the Egyptian authorities for coordinating the reception of three Turkish planes loaded with humanitarian aid for Gaza at North Sinai's El-Arish International Airport.
