Thousands of protesters took to the streets in cities across the world over the last week in support of Palestinians and in protest of Israel's ongoing war against Gaza, which has so far left over 4,000 Palestinians dead, including over 1,000 children, and 12,065 injured.

Pro-Palestine demonstrations took place across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the US, especially after the heartbreaking destruction of the Baptist Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza – which has left hundreds dead.

Cities in Spain, Denmark, Germany, France, Australia, and in London – where demonstrators gathered at BBC News' headquarters to protest its biased coverage – saw protesters carry Palestinian flags and chant slogans against the US and Israeli governments, such as‘Sanctions for Israel’, ‘Freedom for Palestine’, and ‘End the massacre’.

The protests prompted France and Germany, home to the European Union's largest Jewish and Muslim communities, to suppress pro-Palestinian groups, citing concerns of 'public disorder'.

Demonstrations also took place in New York, Washington, Florida, and Los Angeles in the US, and Canada, Venezuela, Chile among others.

Protesters burned Israeli and American flags in Pakistan, while another protest gathered in front of the famous Baitul Mukarram mosque in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Israeli aggression has also sparked protests in several Arab countries including Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, and Tunisia.

Protests also rocked the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Nablus and Hebron, recently raided by Israeli forces.

Demonstrations have also been reported outside Israeli and US embassies in Amman, Jordan; Beirut, Lebanon; and Istanbul, Turkey.

Rallies also took place outside the French and British embassies in Tehran, Iran, according to media reports.

Israel has put Gaza, home to 2.3 million people, under a total blockade since 7 October, showering it with round-the-clock airstrikes.

The Israeli blockade has deprived Gazan civilians of food, water, and fuel, putting the territory at risk of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Palestinians in Gaza are facing the imminent threat of an Israeli ground invasion after the Israeli military has green-lighted the move.

On Thursday, the US Department of State issued a worldwide alert advising US citizens overseas to exercise increased caution due to mounting tensions around the world.
