Hezbollah fighters were targeted by Israeli drones that fired eight missiles as they carried out four raids on the towns of Wadi Khansa, Kfarhamam village and the Bastra Farm in southeast Lebanon, Xinhua reported citing sources from the Lebanese Internal Security Forces.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) called on Israel to halt the attack and allow the Lebanese Red Cross to transport victims to Marjeyoun Governmental Hospital.

Separately, Israeli artillery shelling on Monday rained down on the outskirts of Kfarchouba, Rashaya al-Fakhar villages, and Jabal Sadana area in southeast Lebanon, security sources told Xinhua, with the bombardments causing material damage in the areas.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah on Monday said it had fired guided missiles and artillery shells on Misgav Am, an Israeli settlement in northern Israel, and the Al-Abad site on the border with Israel.

Hezbollah said the attacks caused casualties on the Israeli side but did not specify how many.

On Saturday evening, shelling intensified around an Israeli occupation army post across from the Lebanese village of Yaroun.

A day prior, Lebanon's state-run media reported Israeli shelling of several villages and said a car took a direct hit in the village of Houla.

The same day, the Israeli army announced plans to evacuate the northern city of Kiryat Shmona, after days of clashes with Hezbollah fighters along the border with Lebanon.

More than 19,000 people have been displaced in Lebanon amid an uptick in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah at the country's southern border, figures released Monday by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). On the other side, dozens of Israeli communities near the border have been told to evacuate.

The cross-border escalation erupted amidst the Israeli war on Gaza, where Israel is carrying out relentless bombardments that have killed more than 5,000 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
