The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced Sunday that Israeli attacks on the health sector have killed 116 and injured more than 100 medical personnel since the start of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip on 7 October.

The Ministry added that 50 ambulances were attacked, 25 of which have been out of service as a result of the continuous Israeli airstrikes in the strip since the start of the conflict.

12 hospitals in Gaza have shut down due to damage from the Israeli bombardment or lack of fuel, as well as 46 primary health care clinics.

Moreover, Israeli forces have requested 24 hospitals, containing 2000 beds, to evacuate in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry.

Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes early Sunday near Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital, which is packed with patients and tens of thousands of Palestinians seeking shelter, residents said.

Residents said the latest airstrikes destroyed most of the roads leading to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, in the northern part of the besieged territory.
