Palestinians say the Israeli occupation army was attacking Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest. Israel claims that Hamas’s main command center is located underneath the hospital, but Arab media investigation video reports proved its insincerity.

Palestinians say the Israeli occupation army was attacking Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest. Israel claims that Hamas’s main command center is located underneath the hospital, but Arab media investigation video reports proved its insincerity.

Thousands of civilians had been sheltering in the Shifa compound in recent weeks, but many fled Friday as Israeli troops closed in and Israel expanded access to safe evacuation routes to the south.

Abdallah Nasser, who lives near Shifa, tells AP by phone that the Israeli military was advancing deep into the city from its southern and northern flanks.

“They are facing stiff resistance, but they are advancing,” he says.

The Director of Al-Shifa Hospital reported that Israel bombed the main oxygen line, placing everyone in the complex under the sentence of premeditated murder.

Israeli bombardment and shooting.Mohammed al-Masri, one of many still sheltering at the hospital, says that from a higher floor, he could see Israeli troops approaching from the west. “They are here,” he said. “They are visible.”

Muhammad Abu Salmiya, the Al-Shifa Hospital director, told Al Jazeera from inside the facility that "the hospital compound is cordoned off and the buildings of the hospital are targeted. Any moving person within the compound is targeted. The Israeli occupation forces are outside, preventing any person from moving."

"We’ve started to lose lives. Patients are dying by the minute, victims and wounded are also dying – even babies in the incubators," he added

He said that the hospital, located in Gaza City, has been left without power, internet, water, and medical supplies.

According to BBC a Palestinian surgeon currently inside Al-Shifa hospital, Marwan Abu Saada, said that the main intensive care unit (ICU) has been hit, and sounds of shooting and bombardments echo "every second".

He says no-one can get leave the hospital, and no-one can come in.

The doctor adds that there is now no water, food or electricity in the hospital.

Two patients who were on ventilators have now died, one of whom was a baby, Saada says.

The surgeon told BBC that attempts were made yesterday to dig a mass grave at Al-Shifa hospital. But he says efforts were thwarted by Israeli attacks.

Saada explains that "we don't want to have any outbreaks due to these dead bodies, who are outside the main refrigerator".

That refrigerator is "not working because we don't have fuel to run this generator", he adds.

Live footage of the area appeared to show heavy fighting in the vicinity of the hospital with the constant sounds of gunfire and explosions.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said operations have been suspended at the Al-Shifa hospital complex.

Palestinian Health Minister said that 20 of 30 Gaza hospitals are shutdown, dozens of premature babies at risk of death.

On Friday, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned that the territory’s medical system had reached a “point of no return.”
