At a meeting with senior politicians, the king stressed that the war-ravaged Gaza Strip should not be severed by Israel from the other Palestinian territories.
He added that a military or security solution will not succeed; the war must stop and a political process must be launched on the basis of the two-state solution.
King Abdullah emphasized that delivering sufficient aid has the utmost priority, urging the international community to stop the humanitarian disaster in Gaza immediately, in line with international law.
"Collective punishment, the killing of civilians, and the destruction of vital facilities including hospitals and places of worship are not acceptable to any religion or human values," the king added.
He also clearly warned that the Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, including terrorist settlers' attacks, will push the region towards an explosion and expand the conflict.
