Communications services cut across Gaza Strip again due to Israeli aggression, says telecoms firm

The main telecom company in the Gaza Strip said Monday that mobile telephone services and internet connections had been cut across the Palestinian territory.

We regret to announce that all telecom services in Gaza Strip have been lost due to the cut off of main fibre routes from the Israeli side," PalTel said in a message on social media. 

"Gaza is... blacked out again."

Executive Director of the Ministry's Department of Communications, Laith Daraghmeh, called on international bodies do their best to maintain the continuity of communication and internet services amid the difficult humanitarian conditions and the intensification of Israeli shelling .

“The international community must ensure serious guarantees to not cut off communications again and to ensure universal access to communication and internet services to civilians, medical institutions and journalists," he added.
