The 7 October attack radically transformed the conditions of detainees in Israeli prisons, according to a report issued by Detainees’ Institutions on the occasion of Palestinian Prisoner’s Day.

According to the report, Israel has committed crimes against detainees since the beginning of its brutal war on Gaza, killing 16 through systematic torture, medical malpractice, starvation, and many other violations.

The report also highlighted that at least 27 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military camps such as Sadeh Timan.

In the dungeons of Israeli prisons, neither women nor children were spared.

According to WAFA news agency, the National Campaign to Retrieve the Bodies of the Martyrs said Israeli authorities withhold the bodies of around 497 Palestinians in cemeteries and refrigerators. These include 95 prisoners, slain after 7 October, 51 children, and six women.

The Campaign added that Israel currently withholds the bodies of 26 slain Palestinians who died in its prisons -- the last of whom being Walid Daqqa -- and that thousands of Gazans were detained during Israel's ground invasion of the strip.

Meanwhile, Israel still refuses to disclose any information about Gazan detainees in Israeli prisons and military camps.
