Sunday's incidents, after numerous deaths during an Israeli raid further north in the Palestinian territory, added to a two-year surge of violence in the West Bank that has accelerated since the war in Gaza began on October 7.

The Palestinian health ministry in Ramallah said the deaths of the two Palestinian teenagers were "caused by occupation (Israeli army) bullets".

It identified them as Muhammad Majid Musa Jabareen, 19, and Musa Mahmud Musa Jabareen, 18.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the incident occurred at the entrance to Beit Einun village near the city of Hebron.

Quoting two Palestinian security sources, Wafa reported that the men succumbed to their wounds after being fired on.

Following the incident troops stormed Beit Einun and raided several homes, the agency reported.

Israeli forces also prevented ambulance crews from reaching them.

In a separate incident on Sunday, the Palestinian health ministry said Israeli forces shot dead Palestinian woman Labiba Faza Sidqi Ghannam, 43, at the Hamra checkpoint.

Nationwide strike

The incident came a day after at least 14 people were killed in a bloody Israeli raid on Nour Shams camp in the north of West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent said.

A nationwide strike is being observed on Sunday across Palestine to protest the massacre and the ongoing Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.

Schools, universities, commercial shops, banks, factories, and public transportation observed the strike, WAFA added.

The strike was called by the Fatah movement, which also called on all Palestinians to unite in support of their brethren in the West Bank and Gaza in the face of brutal Israeli aggression.

Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed at least 483 Palestinians in the West Bank since 7 October, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Mass detentions

Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians overnight in Ramallah and Hebron in the occupied West Bank, WAFA reported citing Palestinian security and local sources.

In Hebron, the Israeli army detained at least four Palestinians after raiding their homes in the towns of Dura and Beit Ummar.

In Ramallah, they stormed the villages of Beit Sira and Kharbatha Al-Misbah, detaining four more Palestinians.

Israeli forces carry out near-daily raids on Palestinian communities, usually at night.

In total, Israel arrested at least 30 Palestinians in the West Bank on Saturday, including three women in East Jerusalem.

The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a joint statement on Saturday, that “the arrests took place mostly in Nour Shams refugee camp, which is subject to Israeli military operation since Thursday.”

“The arrests in the Nour Shams camps have included at least 15 citizens, including children, and wounded,” the statement added.

It noted that the new arrests brought the total number of Palestinians who have been detained by Israel since 7 October to 8,340.
